Morning Routine (Video Too!!)

I wanted to do a blog post here in conjunction with a video on my YouTube channel all about my Morning Routine. The importance of a good morning routine and waking up well really helps you set yourself up for a great day. My morning routine consists of four basic things and everything else just works around those four components. They are not always performed in the same order everyday but this is the basic way things go down on a typical morning. My four basics are 1. Taking the dogs out 2. Breakfast 3. Reading my Bible & Praying (Quiet Time) and 4. Getting ready for the day (brushing my teeth, washing my face, getting dressed, etc.) The day usually starts with my alarm going off. I’ve learned that an “alarm sound” is too easy to turn off and roll over again to so I have set my alarm through my Pandora music app (which is free). When my alarm goes off, music starts playing and it lets me wake up a little easier. While I’m listening to the music, I check the intrawebs (

The Habit of Reading The Bible Daily

When I was 14 years old I took an elective class at my Christian School called New Testament Survey. In this class you read through the New Testament while learning more about the history, the writers, and backgrounds of the time in which each book was written, etc.  When I finished that class I figured since I had read through the New Testament I might as well continue and read the Old Testament as well. (Mind you, I did not take Old Testament Survey because I thought that class would take forever!) As a result of this I got in the habit of daily Bible reading. That habit has continued to this day, 23 years later. Isaiah 55:11 ESV “so shall My Word that goes out from My mouth; It shall not return to Me empty, But it shall accomplish that which I purpose And shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” I call it a habit because it has proven to be just that. A well-ingrained habit in my daily life. I will dig deeper into this and let you know how things have eb

What We've Been Up To...

Well, it has been a ridiculously long time since I posted on this main blog page and for that I do apologize. I promise to keep it updated more often and I will be sure to let you in on how I intend to keep that promise in the weeks to come. My goal is to post weekly (my aim is every Tuesday) so be sure to check back on a regular basis for more fun stuff. You possibly already follow me on all my social media (links are on the left) but in case you don’t I will go ahead and give you a quick update of what’s been going on with the Medina family.                 Last October, Ryan, Callie, and I moved into our new home. We live in a lovely downtown area and I have a deck and a beautiful front porch. Callie has a HUGE fenced in back yard that she can actually walk right through the posts of. I told Ryan that next time we buy a fence we’ll have to take Callie with us and make sure her head won’t fit through the posts. It’s wonderful to have our own home again and I
