What We've Been Up To...

Well, it has been a ridiculously long time since I posted on this main blog page and for that I do apologize. I promise to keep it updated more often and I will be sure to let you in on how I intend to keep that promise in the weeks to come. My goal is to post weekly (my aim is every Tuesday) so be sure to check back on a regular basis for more fun stuff. You possibly already follow me on all my social media (links are on the left) but in case you don’t I will go ahead and give you a quick update of what’s been going on with the Medina family.

Last October, Ryan, Callie, and I moved into our new home. We live in a lovely downtown area and I have a deck and a beautiful front porch. Callie has a HUGE fenced in back yard that she can actually walk right through the posts of. I told Ryan that next time we buy a fence we’ll have to take Callie with us and make sure her head won’t fit through the posts. It’s wonderful to have our own home again and I have my own office and filming space as well. I’m in the process of truly making it mine at the moment-one room at a time. I’ll take you along for the journey as well.

First night with us.
9 1/2 months old.
Speaking of Callie and fences, this January we added a new member to our family! His name is Barry Allen (yes, after “the Flash”) and he is a Dalmatian mix. Ryan and I had spoken earlier about getting another dog but wanted to wait a bit more. Plus I wanted to be sure we got one close to Callie’s size. Well, Ryan fell in love with this puppy at the home of a friend of a friend and asked me could he bring him home for the night to see if Callie would be ok with it. I said “yes” thinking that there would be no way we were keeping this dog. Yeah, I should have known better. Barry is now about 9 months old and around 37 pounds and FULL of life. He also turned out to be a “momma’s boy” very early on. He looooooves his momma!! He also truly loves Callie and she’s also fallen for him (though she’d never admit it). They are two peas in a pod and even though they are totally mismatched size-wise, they are perfect little siblings. I wouldn’t trade them for anything money could buy!
Besties for LIFE!!

In addition to all of this, I’ve been working. A lot. I mean a lot a lot. Not only have I been busy with makeup artistry jobs for weddings but my consulting job has EXPLODED. I am thrilled about this and I truly do enjoy it. I am so incredibly blessed and thankful for this opportunity to do something I love and am good at all in the comfort of my own home. My officemates are happy too. They, of course, have four legs and fur but they are still happy mom gets to be home. Unfortunately, my beauty blog has suffered a bit as well as my YouTube filming schedule but I have been working on ways to getting rolling again on those regularly. Now that I’m in a better rhythm with my new home and business, I’ve had a little planning meeting with myself and I believe I’ll be able to better keep up with my blogging demands. It is a creative outlet that I love dearly.

Recently, poor Callie got in a bit of a spill with Barry and his best friend next door, Linusthe beagle, but she is showing some improvement today and walking on all fours here and there. She suffered some soft tissue damage and is on medication and bed rest for a couple of weeks. As of yesterday, I was still very concerned because of her lack of improvement. I prayed for that little girl and I’m a firm believer in “if it’s important to you, it’s important to God” and she has improved greatly today. She even went for a little three legged walk this morning. I’m even happy to report she has eaten the food in her bowl. Since she’s been out of commission, Barry has been missing his sister. He’s actually been driving me nuts! Callie can’t play with him like she usually does so he has resigned himself to de-stuffing every toy he can find in order to keep busy. Well, he’s keeping busy either doing that or climbing on my desk. Seriously, I need Callie to come back to work and babysit. Thankfully, Linus’ family has had Barry over quite a bit lately so he can get some energy out.

That should catch you all up for now. I will see you next week right here on Natasha’s Pages.
