Hello, Beautiful!! Here is my list of 2017 Favorite Books, Standouts, and new Favorite Authors. I’ve read some really great books this year especially in the non-fiction realm. Below you will find an exhaustive list of books I’ve read this year along with ratings and quick notes. Kids of Appetite*	David Arnold	4	I wasn’t sure what to think of this at first, but I finished it with a warm, fuzzy feeling. This is a great book about friendship and what real family is.
A House in the Sky	Amanda Lindhout	5	Everyone MUST READ this book. Highly Recommend. READ. IT.
Where’d You Go, Bernadette	Maria Semple	4.5	Beyond Darling and funny. This is a great book.
Everything, Everything*	Nicola Yoon	3.5	Great YA book. Twist toward the end. Recommend
Learn by Living	Eleanor Roosevelt	4	Love this so much. Want to read more by Eleanor R.
Scrappy Little Nobody*	Anna Kendrick	1	There is no continuity to this book and way too much TMI. Hated it. Seriously regret that I bought it.
King’s Cage	Victoria Aveyard	5	I love this series so much. Can’t wait for the next one!
Girl Underwater*	Claire Kells	4	Surprising! I love this book. Definitely a honorable mention standout this year.
99 Days	Katie Cotugno	3.5	Just above middle of the road YA book. I enjoyed it.
Powerful Writing Skills	Richard Anderson	3	Technical Manual. Pretty good.
Strong	Zanna Van Dijk	4	Exercise and Wellness Manual. Helpful and I recommend (also written by a fellow YouTuber!)
Fearless	Max Lucado	3.5	Middle of the road. Good but I expected more.
After the War Is Over	Jennifer Robson	3.5	Historical Fiction. Good but didn’t “wow” me
The Glass Castle*	Jeanette Walls	4	Oh, my word! Read this book. So entertaining and at times cringe worthy. You may read with one eye open at time.

The Nest*	Cynthia Sweeney	2.5	This book is about a bunch of entitle rich white people who are in their forties or older and never grew up. Garbage.
Cappuccinos, Cupcakes, and a Corpse	Harper Lin	3.5	Middle of the Road Murder Mystery. Got it for Free on Nook. I enjoyed it but nothing special
War of the Worlds	HG Wells	4	I enjoyed this. I’m looking forward to more HG Wells. I’ve got to get back to reading the classics!
The Zookeeper’s Wife*	Diane Ackerman	2	This Book Was Awful! This story is wonderful. I love this actual true story of this book BUT I wish someone else wrote it. Terribly written as a memoir. Don’t even get me started!
Into The Water	Paula Hawkins	4.5	Creepy and so good. Highly Recommend
Today Will Be Different	Maria Semple	4.5	I really loved this. So funny.
The Good Widow*	Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke	3.5	Middle of the Road. Nothing earth shattering. Had a “twist” that you see coming.
Lab Girl*	Hope Jahren	4.5	Absolutely LOVED this book. Highly Recommend! You will never look at a tree the same again!!
Since You’ve Been Gone	Morgan Matson	4.5	I enjoy her books so much. This one is so good. I love the development of the main character is this book. Highly recommend.
All the Missing Girls	Megan Miranda	4	I never saw THAT killer coming. One of favorite books this year.
5 Habits of a Woman Who Doesn’t Quit	Nicki Koziarz	3.7	Great Anecdotes and examples of perseverance by the author. I recommend it.
The Wanderers*	Meg Howry	2	NOTHING HAPPENS. At. All.
The Woman in Cabin 10	Ruth Ware	4	New Favorite Author. Loved it.
The Lying Game	Ruth Ware	4	Really loved it.
The Hate U Give*	Angie Thomas	5	One of my top 5 of the year. Highly recommend. Mutli-faceted. Great story and you’ll fall in love with the family.
Local Girl Missing	Claire Douglas	3.5	Pretty good. Didn’t hate it. I expected more.
The River at Night	Erica Ferencik	3.5	Interesting Story. I did enjoy the book. But I did want to throttle these “friends” for being not so great at friendship at times
Season’s Christmas Quest*	Tara Pollard	2	Children’s book. Makes no sense even for a children’s book.
Since We Fell	Dennis Lehayne	3.7	Interesting story even before anything actually happens. When it does happen, it doesn’t stop. I know why this guy has bestselling books in the double digits. Great read.
The Christmas Joy Ride	Melody Carlson	3	Middle of the Road Christmas Feel-good book. Great for grandma’s. I enjoyed it.
