Advice To My Younger Self (video included)

I was inspired to do this post by a group of amazing female YouTubers who collaborated together to do these type of videos together. I thought it was a wonderful idea and I wanted to do something similar as well. I’ll have the channels of the ladies involved in that collaboration linked at the end of this post as well as my own video of the same subject. So if I could go back in time and give myself some advice it will be a LOT of stuff. My life has been quite interesting to say the least and I’ve experienced so much over the past thirty-eight years (wow, really?). Here is some of my advice to you from the things I learned a long the way.

No one lives with the decisions made for you life but you so be sure you are the one who is making them.
When you are old enough to start making life changing decisions, it is not wrong to disagree with your parents. You have to do what you know God has put in your heart. Be prayerful and mindful in your decisions but be sure you are the one making them.

Go for what you want the first time. Don’t settle for anything less. It’ll do will not do in your life. Close enough never satisfies. Reach for your dreams and goals. And if what you want changes in your life, then go for that.  You cannot listen to negative people. You will never ever, ever, ever, EVER, please everyone and some people can never be pleased no matter what anyone does. Just do what you know is right to do. Sometimes people will discourage you because they’ve settled and never followed their dreams and the only success they will over taste is when they try to take a bite out of yours. You know what you want so YOU go for it.

Enjoy being young and have fun. In all of this you will be learning about who you are. Don’t rush things or be hasty in decisions. Life will just keep going so just enjoy each and every moment you are living in.

4.    Leave home. Go to college, get a job. Be you. Sometimes you have to get away from everything and everyone you’ve ever known to be who you really are. Sometimes you have to do that do figure out who you really are. Even if It’s just a little while, go live somewhere else. This will help you see the world in a different way and you’ll find your place in it.

Have faith. When God gives you a God-sized dream, He will give everything you need to accomplish it. Trust God. He will sustain you through anything and everything. He has always kept His promise to never leave me nor forsake me and I have faith that He never will. Hard times will come, that’s just the nature of living, and sometime you will feel like God is the only one Who hasn’t run away. He will get you through it. Have faith.

Don’t be so hard on your parents. They are only human and are doing the best they can.

You are going to fail and disappoint yourself. Don’t let it derail you. Forgive yourself and move one.

So there you have it. A little bit of advice from me to you. I hope you will take this advice and set yourself up for future success.
